Aqua own a number of high-end restaurants and bars across the world, but our PPC has focused on four of their London branches: Aqua Kyoto, Aqua Nueva, Aqua Shard and Hutong. The restaurants all have their own unique cuisine and offerings, so each of our campaigns has a bespoke strategy that is tailored to their different goals.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the restaurants had to close, we were forced to pivot our strategies and think about how we could continue serving customers. Aqua Shard started to offer Afternoon Tea deliveries and Aqua Kyoto and Nueva translated some of their bestselling dishes into make-at-home Gourmet Meal Kits.

We set up some Google Ads to market the new offerings and were soon seeing an average Conversion Rate of 44.17% across the campaigns.

Once the restaurants reopened, we were able to go back to advertising the standard bar, brunch, lunch and dinner bookings across the four locations. It was obviously a very crowded and competitive marketplace as every restaurant wanted to bring customers back.

We focused on Aqua’s USPs, such as the fine dining-quality of their food, their open air terraces and their locations at London Bridge and within the Shard.

We’ve also set up several short-term search and display campaigns for special occasions and seasonal offers, including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, the reopening of the outdoor terraces and the introduction of gift vouchers.

In the first month of the Terraces campaign, our ads resulted in 847 Goal Completions and an average Cost per Conversion of £0.99.
