High-impact UX to represent the high energy dining experience

The US household name known for its Japanese hibachi dishes – grilled table-side by theatrical chefs – tasked us with designing, building and optimising their website. With the objective of increasing reservations and online orders, we streamlined the key user journeys – booking, ordering and finding a Benihana location – making them fast and intuitive for the user.

Website functionality

With 77 US locations, a primary focus for the design and build of this site was to to ensure people could easily engage with their restaurant of choice – whether booking a reservation or ordering take out. Through a bespoke multi-navigation map system – designed, built and refined by our UX team – we have created an optimised experience for Benihana users that has driven a higher conversion rate.

The Design

We pushed the Benihana brand and reimagined its online presence to reflect the high-energy vibe of their teppanyaki-style dining experience. Bold typography, colours and action photography have been used to capture the essence of this fun and family-friendly restaurant. The design choices take into consideration WCAG 2.0 guidelines – making the site accessible for users of most abilities.
