Studio Snapshot

We have a few interesting projects on the horizon which we’re really excited about, and the influx of work has brought the need to grow the team again. Over the past month we’ve welcomed three new members: designer Annie, who specialises in beautiful illustration work, lead developer Craig, who’s slotted into his role as head of the development team perfectly, and Ben, who’s seriously impressed us with his skills despite this being his first job in web development.

We look forward to seeing how our new team members can help us deliver exceptional work to both existing and incoming clients.

What's new in the
Design team?

Creating corporate and annual reports is one of our favourite projects here at Fanatic so we thought we’d highlight some of the work we’ve done over the last projects, particularly our work on the Lime Venue Portfolio Beyond Food Reports, which recently received a ‘Highly Commended Award’ at The Drum B2B Marketing Awards for Best B2B Educational Series.

When creating reports our goal is to personify the brand and get their message out there. It’s vitally important that anything that has our client’s name attached is presented in their brand voice, so we focus on working within the existing brand guidelines and creating imagery that matches the tone of the brand and the report.

For our work with Lime Venue Portfolio we got to work over the course of a couple of years to create a series of Beyond Food reports that sit within the LVP brand but have a different look and feel for each chapter. We then combined them all for a comprehensive report that merges all the chapters together with the consistency and polish that you can expect from the Fanatic team.

See what the Development
team have been up to

Say hi to our new Developer, Ben!

How have you found life at Fanatic so far?

Really supportive! As a junior developer, my biggest concern was that my lack of experience might cause me to be a burden on the team, but everybody has been supportive and made me feel really welcome!

What were you doing before Fanatic and what made you get into Development?

Before joining Fanatic I worked in various Call Centres as a salesman; charity fundraising, insurance, energy contracts etc. I actually enjoyed sales quite a lot, but I have always wanted to be in a more technical and creative role. Development seemed like a great fit!

What made you choose Fanatic?

As I did my research on the company, it really struck me that Fanatic takes great pride in the work they deliver. On top of that, my initial conversations were incredibly positive, and I knew that this would be a great opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to creative projects.

What have you enjoyed most so far?

I’ve loved working with awesome designers. I have always been amazed by talented designers, and it’s great building sites based on these designs. Their ideas push me to learn new things and grow as a developer.

What are you looking forward to learning more about?

I’m keen to learn more about the digital marketing side of things. It’s a huge piece of the puzzle that goes beyond building a beautiful website.

What’s an interesting fact about you?

あんまり 面白くないと思いますが… I lived in Japan for a year and can speak Japanese (still learning, of course).

Digital Marketing team

We launched two Google Ads campaigns for our long-running client, Clik Software

Clik is making best-in-class field service management software, and besides being one of our first customers, they are also our next door neighbours here at the Tobacco Factory. We recently designed and built a new website that condensed all their previous web channels into one consistent experience, which we’ll continue to optimise in order to increase visibility, grow traffic and improve the user experience.

To further increase brand awareness and drive more qualified traffic to Clik’s new website, we launched their first two PPC campaigns last month. These campaigns focus on their highly successful NICEIC Cert software and their brand new, all-in-one certification software Clik Cert. After thorough market and keyword research, using data-driven insights and creativity, we built what we’re confident will be two well-performing PPC campaigns that will make a real difference to our client’s bottom line.

What’s inspired us this month?

Our newest member of the Design team, Annie, has been impressing us all with her incredible (and award-winning!) illustration skills. She’s been creating some designs for the Fanatic Instagram, making social assets for clients and mocking up some festive designs ready for the Christmas season that are inspired by vintage food packaging.

Here’s her winning entry to ‘Les 24 Heures du Mans s’affichent’, an annual competition to showcase the work of 24 illustrators with the famous 24-hour race as the theme. Annie’s poster was displayed alongside 23 others at Le Mans 2020!
