As well as seeing the culmination of several long-term projects, we’re also looking forward to a classic Fanatic event this month: the annual T-Shirt Competition. With the creative brief being announced as ‘Adventure’, we’re excited to see what the different team members come up with.

Will anyone take Sam’s crown? Look out for the winning t-shirt design in next month’s Scrapbook!

What's new in the
Design team?

Thomas has been working on a new site design for Royal Armouries

The new Royal Armouries Conference and Events website was designed alongside their new neon look. We got an early look at the print and branding visuals in order to create a site that fits the new style, while pushing it forward for use on screen.

Getting to work with the dark primary colours and bright accent colours was a nice challenge, the imagery of the venue and the great food really complemented the website design and we’re happy to see it working together so well.

How have you found life at Fanatic so far?

Fantastic!

What were you doing before Fanatic and what made you get into Web Development?

I’ve been a web developer since the late 90s. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

What made you choose Fanatic?

The commute is a five minute walk, and Fanatic were happy for me to work from home on days when I need to do the school run. I’ve been a freelancer for many years, and I wanted to work in a small but supportive team.

What have you enjoyed most so far?

There’s great music in the office. And free crisps.

What are you looking forward to learning more about?

Web development is always evolving, that’s what keeps it interesting.

What’s an interesting fact about you?

I’m happily married with two daughters and a puppy, but if that’s not interesting enough for you; I’ve got insane frisbee skills and have a small but mildly impressive collection of medals to prove it.

Amy, Kai and Alex have all been involved in the full launch of the OptionsDesk brand and website

The last few months since the OptionsDesk website went live have involved us laying the foundations for the eventual full launch, so that we’d be on a strong footing with our marketing efforts. We’ve been rolling out our organic social plan and supporting with the addition of blog-style content on the site’s Insights hub.

April saw the introduction of paid social campaigns on Linkedin and search and display campaigns on Google Ads. The main aim of these is to draw our targeted audience towards the Strategy Explorer, an interactive tool that allows users to identify a trading strategy that works for them, and captures leads in the process. The campaigns have only been running for a couple of weeks, but we’ve already seen some promising results, with a number of users opening accounts and requesting calls with the OptionsDesk team.

Adobe Creative Cloud Express

Adobe have recently released a new addition to its range of apps, titled Creative Cloud Express. The idea of the new cloud-based app is to bring together a number of Adobe’s image and video editing tools within one simple interface. Alongside the integration of Adobe Stock, Adobe Fonts and the brand’s AI tech, Sensei, the drag-and-drop template style and smart resizing make the app extremely accessible for all levels of designer. We look forward to seeing how we can use Creative Cloud Express for future projects.
